About Due Date Calculations
How It Works
Due dates are calculated using Naegele's rule, adding 280 days (40 weeks) to the first day of your last menstrual period, or 266 days (38 weeks) from conception.
Accuracy
Only about 5% of babies arrive on their exact due date. Most are born within two weeks before or after the estimated date.
Ultrasound Confirmation
Your healthcare provider will confirm your due date with an ultrasound, which is the most accurate method, especially when done early in pregnancy.
